Since beginning leaning Hwata Ogeumhee I have included it in my daily exercise routine. As I learned more of the form it gradually became the main component of my practice. I still however practice yoga and tai chi and find the three systems complement each other very well. Certainly I have experienced many benefits from this regular practice, my body is stronger and more flexible and my mind feels clearer and sharper. As I am still a relatively new student to the technique I know that I still have much to learn. As I will be returning to the Seoul area in the summer I hope to be able to continue my study of Hwata Ogeumhee at the Seoul center.
I am extremely grateful to my teacher Mr. Chong-Cheon Yong for his diligence and patience in teaching me this wonderful technique. He has a deep understanding of the technique and teaches it in a relaxed, clear and concise way that even I as a foreigner with limited Korean skills am able to follow. He has given me a firm grounding in the technique which I hope to continue developing in for many years to come.
